Development terms
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms apply to website design, development and other project work. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Ignite Systems Ltd, trading as Borg Digital, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 05137882). “You” means the client. Accepting a quote or paying an invoice means you agree to these terms. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
1. Quotes and starting work
- Quotes are valid for 30 days.
- The contract starts when we accept your order by sending an invoice.
- Anything not in the agreed quote counts as extra work. We will quote for it separately, and it may change the delivery date.
- Please send the content, information and access we need in good time. Delays on your side can move the delivery date.
2. Changes during a project
- Each project includes a reasonable amount of revision time: 4 hours for projects up to £3,000, plus 1 hour for each further £1,500, unless your quote says otherwise.
- Please send change requests in writing (email is fine). Once the included time is used up, we will quote for further changes before we carry on.
- We will ask you to sign off the design in writing. Changes after sign-off are chargeable.
3. Content and copyright
- You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, all content and media you give us. You agree to cover us against any claim arising from that content.
- Ownership of the finished designs and code passes to you on final payment where we have agreed this in writing. Otherwise it stays with us, and you get a licence to use it for your website.
- We may add a small credit link to sites we build and show the work in our portfolio, unless you ask us not to.
- Third-party software, plugins, fonts and media remain under their own licences, and you agree to follow those licences.
- We may refuse to work with content that is unlawful, offensive, infringes someone’s rights or contains malware.
4. Domains and hosting
If we arrange a domain or hosting for you as part of a project, our hosting terms also apply. You are responsible for having the right to use your chosen domain name.
5. Payment
- Invoices are due within 28 days unless we agree otherwise. Larger projects may be billed in stages.
- Prices can change, but the price in an accepted quote won’t.
- If invoices are overdue, we may pause work and, in the end, take our work offline.
6. After launch
- If a bug turns up in code we wrote within 3 months of sign-off, we will fix it free of charge, provided the hosting and setup haven’t changed.
- After that, or if you or another developer have changed the code, fixes are chargeable.
- We build for current versions of the major browsers. We can’t guarantee how a site will look or work on every device, or after future browser, plugin or hosting changes.
- We follow good SEO and accessibility practice, but we can’t guarantee search engine rankings.
- Keep your own backups unless your hosting or care plan includes them.
7. Liability
- We take reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profit, revenue or data), for delays outside our control, or for faults in third-party software such as WordPress and its plugins.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the project.
- You are responsible for making sure your site and your business comply with the laws that apply to them, for example e-commerce, VAT and data protection.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
8. Confidentiality and data
Both sides keep each other’s confidential information private. We handle your personal data as set out in our privacy notice.
9. Ending a project
Either side may end a project in writing. You pay for the work done up to that point. We may also end a project straight away if these terms are seriously broken, or if you become insolvent.
10. General
If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update these terms from time to time, and the current version is always on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
